Our Story

"A Different Kind of Title Company"

We started as a two person statewide title abstract company serving one customer nearly twenty years ago and even then we quickly found ways to break new ground. We found a way to complete our work faster than others at the time, and soon began to do abstracts throughout New England, which naturally led to us becoming a title agent and among the first to serve lenders across multiple states.

Over time, we acquired a deep reservoir of regional knowledge and expertise, and our company culture of happy, humble, hardworking, honest and bright professionals made for a very special workplace. Working together as a team, relying on proprietary software and focusing on superior customer service, our customer base grew to include hundreds of lenders and brokers. We then expanded our best-in-class services throughout the Northeast.

But in listening intensely to our customers, we knew that was not good enough. We knew the old way of doing things in the title business had to change. So, we began looking at ourselves carefully, and asking ourselves questions - like why we did things the way we did them.

One question led to another and another, and another.

Using our newly learned Six Sigma skills, we broke out the sticky notes, markers and white boards and began to re-think, re-engineer and redefine our title & settlement processes. We studied everything we did: how and why we did it; when we did it; how long it took to do it; and with whom we did it. Then, we put up maps and pictures of it on our walls and methodically cut out whatever did not add value to our customers.

One step at a time, we transformed our processes into customer-satisfaction driven lean work cells, and built innovative tools to measure and monitor how we were serving our customers. We found inventive ways to hire and train our people. We invested in technological solutions that enabled us to customize our integration with customers' loan origination systems. And along the way, we developed a deep competency in building, managing and refining processes. Our customers noticed too, and began giving us high customer-satisfaction scores using the industry's only real-time c-sat system.

So we decided to share what we had learned with some of our customers and quickly discovered that in working together, we could build streamlined lending and settlement processes that reduced cycle times, cut costs and improved borrower satisfaction. We were not the typical title company, they told us. We actually helped them compete!

Today, our different kind of title company is building advantages for innovative lenders across the country through our unique title and settlement solutions.

And it all started with just a few questions.
